Hindu Forum Canada is highly disappointed and displeased with all those groups and universities that are holding and sponsoring ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’. It’s a shame that some academia’s racism and discrimination towards Hindus and Hinduism is at play in times when Taliban are openly destroying all norms of humanity and human rights and so-called ‘scholars’ find pleasure showing their hatred towards Hindus and Hinduism.
The event is a nefarious and vile attempt to malign Hindus in India, in general, and the Hindu diaspora in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, in particular. It is a shame that some academicians from your university are using the name of your esteemed institution to put across their wicked agenda against Hinduism and Hindus.
After reading the call by the organizers of this conference, it is absolutely clear that their Hindu hatred is at its peak and their lack of knowledge of Hindu scriptures, history and polity is of the lowest standard.
The organizers of the conference are calling for registration on the basis of false premises and fabricated lies. Some of them are as below:
- Hindu militancy is on the rise in India;
- A large portion of the Indian diaspora overseas is building links with supremacists’ ideological groups;
- Caste-based discrimination;
- There is a crackdown on journalists, human rights groups and all forms of democratic dissent in India.
This is nothing more than a false narrative, as outlined above in your agenda, to malign the image of Hindus across the globe. The organizers are merely counting on one-sided media reports.
We want to draw the attention to the contributions of Hindus in the progress and prosperity of our western world including Canada.
a. Hindu community, wherever they are, in India or overseas, is largely peace-loving and vibrant;
b. Hindu community, overseas, is a law-abiding community;
c. Hindu community, overseas, contributes to the economy, business, technology, science, politics, medicine,
energy, cyber-security, police, military, academics, community services, media, law, law-making and much more.
Attacking Hindus and Hinduism is not acceptable to Hindus in Canada and across the globe. We Hindus feel being singled out and maliciously attacked by those institutions since we haven’t seen any conference arranged by them on growing Islamist Jihadi organizations or extreme evangelist movements or extreme orthodox Jewish groups or any other extremist ideology. But they feel comfortable targeting Hindus, who are most peaceful and already subdued by colonizers for the past few centuries.
We urge Universities to not demonstrate a colonizer mindset and discriminatory behavior towards Hindus in 21st Century.
We hope they would not desire their premier institution’s name to be utilized for an agenda-driven conference.
Therefore, we would urge them to take necessary action against the academicians of those universities and ask them to withdraw their respective university’s name from this conference.
Sincerely,
Rao Yendamuri,
President, Hindu Forum Canada
